| CVE-2026-56148 | Medium | 6.5 v3 | - | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-07-01 | Uncontrolled Recursion (CWE-674) in Elasticsearch can lead to a denial of service via Excessive Allocation (CAPEC-130). An authenticated user can submit a specially crafted query that causes excessive resource consumption while the request is processed, which may render the affected node unavailable. |
| CVE-2026-49451 | High | 7.5 v3 | - | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-06-30 | The OpenAPI.NET SDK contains a useful object model for OpenAPI documents in .NET along with common serializers to extract raw OpenAPI JSON and YAML documents from the model. From 2.0.0-preview11 until 2.7.5 and 3.5.4, a small OpenAPI document containing a circular schema reference can cause process termination through stack overflow in Microsoft.OpenApi. The issue affects OpenAPI document parsing through public OpenAPI.NET reader APIs and has been confirmed across both JSON and YAML reader paths. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.7.5 and 3.5.4. |
| CVE-2026-57081 | High | 7.5 v3 | - | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-06-30 | Net::BitTorrent versions through 2.0.1 for Perl allow remote memory exhaustion via deeply nested bencoded input. bdecode recurses once per nested list or dictionary level with no depth cap, and each recursive call receives the remaining buffer by value while the list and dictionary branches capture the whole remainder, so every live recursion frame keeps its own copy of the shrinking buffer (O(N^2) bytes for an N-deep input). The decoder runs on every untrusted bencode source: .torrent files, BEP09 metadata fetched from peers, DHT messages, and tracker responses. A bencoded input of roughly 150,000 nested lists (about 150 KB on the wire) drives multi-gigabyte peak memory, so one short message from any peer, or one crafted .torrent file or magnet link, terminates the client. |
| CVE-2026-54888 | Medium | 6.9 v4 | 0.2% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-06-29 | Uncontrolled Recursion vulnerability in leandrocp mdex allows denial of service via deeply nested Markdown input. mdex converts between an Elixir %MDEx.Document{} struct and Comrak's internal AST using two mutually recursive Rust functions, ex_document_to_comrak_ast and comrak_ast_to_ex_document, in the NIF source file document.rs. Neither function enforces a maximum nesting depth, so the recursion depth is bounded only by the structure of the input. An attacker who can get a Markdown document rendered (for example through MDEx.parse_document!/1 or MDEx.to_html/1) can supply a document with thousands of nested block quotes, which drives unbounded recursion across the NIF boundary and exhausts the native C stack. Because the resulting stack overflow is an uncatchable SIGSEGV raised inside |
| CVE-2026-13757 | Medium | 6.2 v3 | 0.1% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-06-29 | A flaw was found in p11-kit. The RPC message attribute parsing functions p11_rpc_message_get_attribute() and p11_rpc_message_get_attribute_array_value() form a mutually-recursive call chain with no recursion depth limit when processing nested CKA_WRAP_TEMPLATE, CKA_UNWRAP_TEMPLATE, and CKA_DERIVE_TEMPLATE attributes. An unauthenticated attacker with local access to the p11-kit RPC Unix domain socket can send a specially crafted request with deeply nested template attributes, causing stack exhaustion and crashing the p11-kit server process and its dependent services. |
| CVE-2026-47770 | Medium | 5.5 v3 | 0.1% | - | Fix available | 2026-06-27 | jq is a command-line JSON processor. Prior to 1.8.2, comparing two sufficiently deeply nested arrays with the == operator exhausts the C stack on jq's ordinary command-line surface, resulting in denial of service via stack exhaustion (uncontrolled recursion). The crash occurs in jq's recursive structural comparison code, with the recursion repeating through jvp_array_equal() and jv_equal() in src/jv.c when comparing deeply nested arrays; a nearby sort comparator path through jv_cmp() in src/jv_aux.c overflows the stack at a larger nesting depth from the same missing recursion guard. Anyone running jq comparisons on attacker-controlled deeply nested JSON values, or embedding jq in a context where untrusted data can reach the == comparison path, is affected. This vulnerability is fixed in |
| CVE-2026-54297 | High | 7.5 v3 | 0.4% | - | Fix available | 2026-06-24 | Faraday is an HTTP client library abstraction layer that provides a common interface over many adapters. From 1.0.0 until 1.10.6 and 2.14.3, Faraday::NestedParamsEncoder, the default nested query parameter encoder/decoder in Faraday, decodes nested query strings without enforcing a maximum nesting depth. A crafted query string causes Faraday to build a deeply nested Ruby Hash structure. The internal dehash routine then recursively walks this attacker-controlled structure without a depth limit. At sufficient depth, Ruby raises an uncaught SystemStackError (stack level too deep), crashing the calling thread or worker. This can lead to denial of service in applications that pass attacker-controlled query strings to Faraday's nested query parsing or URL-building paths. This vulnerability is fi |
| CVE-2025-71382 | Medium | 6.5 v3 | 0.3% | - | Fix available | 2026-06-23 | MuPDF before 1.27.0-rc1 contains an uncontrolled recursion vulnerability in the EPUB CSS rendering engine that allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service by supplying a maliciously crafted EPUB file with deeply nested HTML elements and inline CSS styles. The function value_from_inheritable_property() in css-apply.c recurses through the CSS property inheritance chain without a depth limit, exhausting the process stack and causing a crash in any application using MuPDF for EPUB rendering. |
| CVE-2026-48513 | High | 7.5 v3 | 0.2% | - | Fix available | 2026-06-22 | MessagePack for C# is a MessagePack serializer for C#. Prior to 2.5.301 and 3.1.7, runtime-generated union deserializers emitted by DynamicUnionResolver do not call MessagePackSecurity.DepthStep(ref reader) and do not decrement reader.Depth around recursive deserialization and skip paths. This means union deserialization does not consistently participate in the maximum object graph depth enforcement that protects other recursive formatter paths. For unknown union keys, the emitted deserializer calls reader.Skip() on attacker-controlled data without an enclosing depth step. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.5.301 and 3.1.7. |
| CVE-2026-48512 | High | 7.5 v3 | 0.2% | - | Fix available | 2026-06-22 | MessagePack for C# is a MessagePack serializer for C#. Prior to 2.5.301 and 3.1.7, MessagePack-CSharp's JSON conversion helpers contain multiple recursion paths that do not consistently enforce a depth limit. These paths are in the JSON conversion component rather than normal typed MessagePack deserialization. MessagePackSerializer.ConvertFromJson recursively processes nested JSON arrays and objects in FromJsonCore() without consulting MessagePackSecurity.MaximumObjectGraphDepth. TinyJsonReader.ReadNextToken() recursively consumes comma and colon separator characters, allowing even malformed JSON with long separator runs to consume one stack frame per character. MessagePackSerializer.ConvertToJson applies depth checks to arrays and maps, but the typeless extension branch for ext-100 recurs |
| CVE-2026-48506 | High | 7.5 v3 | 0.3% | - | Fix available | 2026-06-22 | MessagePack for C# is a MessagePack serializer for C#. Prior to 2.5.301 and 3.1.7, MessagePackReader.TrySkip() recursively descends into nested arrays and maps without incrementing the reader depth or calling the configured depth checks. This bypasses MessagePackSecurity.MaximumObjectGraphDepth, the library's documented protection against deeply nested object graphs. Many generated and dynamic formatters call reader.Skip() when they encounter unknown map keys, unknown array members, ignored fields, or data that should be skipped for forward compatibility. A deeply nested value in one of these skipped positions can therefore cause unbounded recursion and an uncatchable StackOverflowException. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.5.301 and 3.1.7. |
| CVE-2026-48502 | High | 7.5 v3 | 0.3% | - | Fix available | 2026-06-22 | MessagePack for C# is a MessagePack serializer for C#. Prior to 2.5.301 and 3.1.7, MessagePackReader.ReadDateTime() can allocate stack memory based on an attacker-controlled MessagePack extension length. In the slow path for timestamp extension parsing, the computed tokenSize includes the extension body length from the wire and is used in a stackalloc operation before the extension length is validated as one of the valid timestamp sizes. A very small payload can claim a large timestamp extension body and cause a stack allocation large enough to trigger an uncatchable StackOverflowException, terminating the host process. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.5.301 and 3.1.7. |
| CVE-2026-54269 | Medium | 5.3 v3 | 0.2% | - | Fix available | 2026-06-22 | protobufjs compiles protobuf definitions into JavaScript (JS) functions. Prior to 8.6.0 and 7.6.3, protobufjs accepted certain schema-derived names that could collide with properties used by protobufjs runtime helpers. The known affected names are fields named hasOwnProperty, field or oneof names such as $type when loaded through protobufjs JSON/reflection descriptors, and service methods whose generated helper name is rpcCall. When affected message or service types were used, protobufjs could read schema-controlled data where it expected an own-property helper, reflected type metadata, or the base RPC helper. This could cause deterministic exceptions or recursive calls in affected decode post-checks, verification, object conversion, reflected JSON serialization, or protobufjs RPC helper i |
| CVE-2026-48712 | High | 7.5 v3 | 0.3% | - | Fix available | 2026-06-22 | protobufjs compiles protobuf definitions into JavaScript (JS) functions. Prior to 7.6.1 and 8.4.1, protobufjs could recurse without a depth limit while converting decoded messages to plain objects or JSON. This affected generated toObject() conversion and the custom google.protobuf.Any JSON conversion path. A crafted protobuf binary payload containing deeply nested Any values could cause the JavaScript call stack to be exhausted during conversion to JSON. This vulnerability is fixed in 7.6.1 and 8.4.1. |
| CVE-2025-7010 | Medium | 5.5 v3 | 0.1% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-06-12 | Stack overflow vulnerability due to uncontrolled recursion in Avast Antivirus when scanning a malformed PDF file may allow Denial-of-Service of the antivirus process. This issue affects Avast Antivirus, AVG Antivirus, Norton Antivirus, Avast One, and Avast Business Antivirus on Windows, macOS, and Linux for virus definition builds before VPS 25021208. The affected scanning logic is delivered through a shared Gen Digital virus definition update stream. The same stream feeds the consumer antivirus products listed in this advisory and other Gen Digital products that embed the same engine. Mitigation flows through this update channel; installations at or above the listed build are not vulnerable regardless of which product consumes the stream. |

| CVE-2026-4870 | High | 7.5 v3 | 0.3% | - | Fix available | 2026-06-12 | IBM Qiskit SDK 0.43.0 through 2.5.0 could allow an attacker to trigger a segmentation fault leading to a denial of service due to uncontrolled recursion in the parser. |
| CVE-2026-48734 | Medium | 5.5 v3 | 0.1% | - | Fix available | 2026-06-10 | ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to versions 6.9.13-49 and 7.1.2-24, a crafted MVG file could result in a stack overflow due to a missing depth or visited-set check. This issue has been patched in versions 6.9.13-49 and 7.1.2-24. |
| CVE-2026-46557 | Medium | 6.2 v3 | 0.1% | - | Fix available | 2026-06-10 | ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to version 7.1.2-23, due to a missing depth check a stack overflow can occur in the fx operation by passing a crafted argument. This issue has been patched in version 7.1.2-23. |
| CVE-2026-46689 | High | 8.7 v4 | 0.3% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-06-10 | Kanidm is an identity management platform. Prior to version 1.9.3, a single unauthenticated GET to any /scim/v1/... endpoint with a ?filter= query string of a few thousand nested parentheses (≈ 4–12 KB) drives the recursive-descent PEG parser past the worker thread's stack guard page. Rust responds to stack overflow with std::process::abort() — the entire kanidmd process exits. The parse runs inside axum's Query<ScimEntryGetQuery> extractor, before any handler body and therefore before any ACL check. This issue has been patched in version 1.9.3. |
| CVE-2026-45664 | Medium | 5.3 v3 | 0.4% | - | Fix available | 2026-06-10 | ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to versions 6.9.13-47 and 7.1.2-22, because of a missing check in the MNG coder it would be possible to read more images than the list limit policy would allow resulting in excessive resource use. This issue has been patched in versions 6.9.13-47 and 7.1.2-22. |
| CVE-2026-9740 | High | 7.5 v3 | 0.3% | - | Fix available | 2026-06-09 | A vulnerability in MongoDB Server's BSON validation logic allows an unauthenticated user to crash the mongod process by sending a specially crafted message. The BSON validator's handling of certain nested binary data structures permits uncontrolled mutual recursion between validation functions, where each re-entry resets internal depth tracking. |
| CVE-2026-46373 | High | 7.5 v3 | 0.3% | - | Fix available | 2026-06-09 | SQLFluff is a modular SQL linter and auto-formatter with support for multiple dialects and templated code. Prior to version 4.1.0, in deployments where untrusted users can provide SQL queries to be linted, an untrusted user can submit a malicious query with deliberate excessive nesting to any application using the parser to trigger a Denial of Service through resource exhaustion. This issue has been patched in version 4.1.0. |
| CVE-2026-49847 | High | 7.5 v3 | 0.4% | - | Fix available | 2026-06-09 | FreeSWITCH is a Software Defined Telecom Stack enabling the digital transformation from proprietary telecom switches to a software implementation that runs on any commodity hardware. Prior to version 1.11.1, a single unauthenticated WebSocket frame containing a deeply nested JSON document crashes the FreeSWITCH process via stack overflow, terminating all calls and sessions on the host. The recursion drives the worker thread's stack pointer into the stack guard page, raising SIGSEGV from the kernel before any usable write primitive develops. This issue has been patched in version 1.11.1. |
| CVE-2026-49941 | High | 7.5 v3 | 0.3% | - | Fix available | 2026-06-04 | Net::CIDR::Set versions through 0.20 for Perl did not validate IP addresses. The add method called the _encode method to parse addresses. If the addresses did not look like netmasks or network ranges, then they were assumed to single IP addresses and passed back to itself as a 32-bit or 128-bit netmask. If the argument was not a well-formed IP address, then this would lead to indefinite recursion. An attacker could use this to cause a denial of service. |
| CVE-2026-47706 | Medium | 5.3 v3 | 0.3% | - | Fix available | 2026-06-04 | Strawberry GraphQL is a library for creating GraphQL APIs. In versions 0.71.0 through 0.315.6, the QueryDepthLimiter extension is vulnerable to an Application-level DOS due to a lack of cycle detection in fragment spreads. When a query contains circular fragment references the determine_depth function enters an infinite recursion, leading to a RecursionError and crashing the validation process. Version 0.315.7 patches the issue. |

| CVE-2026-44740 | Medium | 6.5 v3 | 0.3% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-06-01 | Billy is an interface filesystem abstraction for Go. Prior to versions 5.9.0 and 6.0.0-alpha.1, multiple components may improperly handle crafted or malformed input, resulting in panics, infinite loops, uncontrolled recursion, or excessive resource consumption. These issues arise from insufficient validation and missing safety mechanisms such as cycle detection, recursion limits, or defensive handling of unexpected states when processing untrusted repository data and filesystem structures. This issue has been patched in versions 5.9.0 and 6.0.0-alpha.1. |
| CVE-2026-46149 | Medium | 6.1 v3 | 0.1% | - | Fix available | 2026-05-29 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: target: configfs: Bound snprintf() return in tg_pt_gp_members_show() target_tg_pt_gp_members_show() formats LUN paths with snprintf() into a 256-byte stack buffer, then will memcpy() cur_len bytes from that buffer. snprintf() returns the length the output would have had, which can exceed the buffer size when the fabric WWN is long because iSCSI IQN names can be up to 223 bytes. The check at the memcpy() site only guards the destination page write, not the source read, so memcpy() will read past the stack buffer and copy adjacent stack contents to the sysfs reader, which when CONFIG_FORTIFY_SOURCE is enabled, fortify_panic() will be triggered. | CVE-2026-44844 | Medium | - | 0.4% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-05-28 | eml_parser serves as a python module for parsing eml files and returning various information found in the e-mail as well as computed information. Prior to 3.0.1, EmlParser.get_raw_body_text() recurses unconditionally for every nested message/rfc822 attachment without any depth limit. An attacker who can supply a badly crafted EML file with approximately 120 nested message/rfc822 parts triggers an unhandled RecursionError and aborts parsing of the message. A 12 KB EML file is enough to crash a worker. Though this causes the parser to crash, it is an unlikely scenario as the suggested EML that crashes the parser would not pass basic RFC compliance tests. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.0.1. |
| CVE-2026-42328 | Medium | 6.2 v3 | 0.1% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-05-27 | go-ipld-prime is an implementation of the InterPlanetary Linked Data (IPLD) spec interfaces, a batteries-included codec implementations of IPLD for CBOR and JSON, and tooling for basic operations on IPLD objects. Prior to 0.23.0, the DAG-CBOR and DAG-JSON decoders recurse on each nested map or list without a depth limit. A payload containing deeply nested collections causes the decoder to recurse once per level, growing the goroutine stack until the Go runtime terminates the process with a fatal stack overflow (distinct from a recoverable panic). This vulnerability is fixed in 0.23.0. |
| CVE-2026-6936 | Medium | 6.5 v3 | 0.2% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-05-27 | IBM i 7.6, 7.5, 7.4, and 7.3 s vulnerable to a denial-of-service attack due to uncontrolled recursion in the Integrated Language Environment (ILE) compiler. An authenticated attacker could exploit this vulnerability by compiling specially crafted source code containing a specific combination of statements. |
| CVE-2026-45904 | Medium | 5.5 v3 | 0.2% | - | Fix available | 2026-05-27 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: powerpc/eeh: fix recursive pci_lock_rescan_remove locking in EEH event handling The recent commit 1010b4c012b0 ("powerpc/eeh: Make EEH driver device hotplug safe") restructured the EEH driver to improve synchronization with the PCI hotplug layer. However, it inadvertently moved pci_lock_rescan_remove() outside its intended scope in eeh_handle_normal_event(), leading to broken PCI error reporting and improper EEH event triggering. Specifically, eeh_handle_normal_event() acquired pci_lock_rescan_remove() before calling eeh_pe_bus_get(), but eeh_pe_bus_get() itself attempts to acquire the same lock internally, causing nested locking and disrupting normal EEH event handling paths. This patch adds a boolean parameter do_loc |

The OpenAPI.NET SDK contains a useful object model for OpenAPI documents in .NET along with common serializers to extract raw OpenAPI JSON and YAML documents from the model.

Net::BitTorrent versions through 2.0.1 for Perl allow remote memory exhaustion via deeply nested bencoded input. bdecode recurses once per nested list or dictionary level with no depth cap, and each recursive call receives the remaining buffer by value while the list and dictionary branches capture the whole remainder, so every live recursion frame keeps its own copy of the shrinking buffer (O(N^2) bytes for an N-deep input).

Uncontrolled Recursion vulnerability in leandrocp mdex allows denial of service via deeply nested Markdown input. mdex converts between an Elixir %MDEx.Document{} struct and Comrak's internal AST using two mutually recursive Rust functions, ex_document_to_comrak_ast and comrak_ast_to_ex_document, in the NIF source file document.rs. Because the resulting stack overflow is an uncatchable SIGSEGV raised inside

A flaw was found in p11-kit. The RPC message attribute parsing functions p11_rpc_message_get_attribute() and p11_rpc_message_get_attribute_array_value() form a mutually-recursive call chain with no recursion depth limit when processing nested CKA_WRAP_TEMPLATE, CKA_UNWRAP_TEMPLATE, and CKA_DERIVE_TEMPLATE attributes. jq is a command-line JSON processor. Faraday is an HTTP client library abstraction layer that provides a common interface over many adapters. This vulnerability is fi

MessagePack for C# is a MessagePack serializer for C#.

MessagePack for C# is a MessagePack serializer for C#.
