CVE-2026-94300

HIGH
8.1
CVSS v3
NVD

Description

Replaying GSS-TSIG signed UDP messages can result in memory corruption in "`named`". An attacker who can capture a previously signed UDP message can replay it while the negotiated TSIG key is still valid. By also sending crafted queries to a zone the attacker controls, the attacker may potentially achieve remote code execution. This issue affects BIND 9 versions 9.11.0 through 9.18.50, 9.20.0 through 9.20.29, 9.21.0 through 9.21.26, 9.11.3-S1 through 9.18.50-S1, and 9.20.9-S1 through 9.20.29-S1.

Common questions

How do I fix CVE-2026-94300?

Published advisories record a fix for 27 affected products. The "How to fix" section on this page lists the fixed version and source advisory for each one, so apply the entry matching what you actually run.

Is CVE-2026-94300 being actively exploited?

Not that we know of. CVE-2026-94300 is not in the CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Its EPSS score of 0.95% is the estimated probability that it will be exploited in the next 30 days. That is higher than 61% of all scored CVEs.

How severe is CVE-2026-94300?

CVE-2026-94300 has a CVSS v3 base score of 8.1, rated important. CVSS rates the technical impact if the vulnerability is exploited, not how likely that is, so weigh it alongside the exploit-prediction score when you decide what to patch first.

What does CVE-2026-94300 affect?

Published advisories record a fix for bind9 (Debian), bind (Rocky), bind (Red Hat / RHEL), bind-chroot (Rocky), and 23 more. Only products with a sourced advisory are listed, so treat this as what we can cite rather than a complete inventory.
