CVE-2026-53366
HIGHDescription
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv4: account for fraggap on the paged allocation path In __ip_append_data(), when the paged-allocation branch is taken, alloclen and pagedlen are computed as alloclen = fragheaderlen + transhdrlen; pagedlen = datalen - transhdrlen; datalen already includes fraggap, but the fraggap bytes carried over from the previous skb are copied into the new skb's linear area at offset transhdrlen by the subsequent skb_copy_and_csum_bits(). The linear area is therefore undersized by fraggap bytes while pagedlen is overstated by the same amount. The non-paged branch sets alloclen to fraglen, which already accounts for fraggap because datalen does. Bring the paged branch in line by adding fraggap to alloclen and subtracting it from pagedlen. After this adjustment, copy no longer collapses to -fraggap on the paged path, so remove the stale comment describing that old arithmetic.

Common questions
How do I fix CVE-2026-53366?
Published advisories record a fix for 312 affected products. The "How to fix" section on this page lists the fixed version and source advisory for each one, so apply the entry matching what you actually run.
Is CVE-2026-53366 being actively exploited?
Not that we know of. CVE-2026-53366 is not in the CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Its EPSS score of 0.17% is the estimated probability that it will be exploited in the next 30 days. That is higher than 6% of all scored CVEs.
How severe is CVE-2026-53366?
CVE-2026-53366 has a CVSS v3 base score of 8.5, rated important. CVSS rates the technical impact if the vulnerability is exploited, not how likely that is, so weigh it alongside the exploit-prediction score when you decide what to patch first.
What does CVE-2026-53366 affect?
Published advisories record a fix for linux (Debian), kernel (Rocky), kernel (Red Hat / RHEL), kernel-64k (Rocky), and 308 more. Only products with a sourced advisory are listed, so treat this as what we can cite rather than a complete inventory.
