CVE-2026-115567

MEDIUM
5.8
CVSS v4
NVD

Description

Tokio is a runtime for writing applications with Rust. In 1.54.0, a race condition between tokio::time::Interval::poll_tick (including .tick().await) and the multi-threaded runtime's time driver could drop an internal timer entry without synchronizing with the driver thread that was firing it. The race caused a use-after-free on the timer's waker and task state in safe Rust, which could produce assertion panics, task reference-count corruption, or heap memory corruption. This issue is fixed in 1.54.1.

Common questions

How do I fix CVE-2026-115567?

Upgrade tokio to 1.54.1 or later.

Is CVE-2026-115567 being actively exploited?

Not that we know of. CVE-2026-115567 is not in the CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Its EPSS score of 0.11% is the estimated probability that it will be exploited in the next 30 days. That is higher than 1% of all scored CVEs.

How severe is CVE-2026-115567?

CVE-2026-115567 has a CVSS v4 base score of 5.8, rated medium. CVSS rates the technical impact if the vulnerability is exploited, not how likely that is, so weigh it alongside the exploit-prediction score when you decide what to patch first.
