CVE-2026-112900
CRITICALDescription
Pillow is a Python imaging library. From 2.6.0 until 13.0.0, Pillow is vulnerable to argument injection when invoking Ghostscript for EPS input. EpsImagePlugin.Ghostscript passes a caller-controlled input filename after -f without converting it to a safe absolute path, so a name beginning with a hyphen can be interpreted as a Ghostscript option. An attacker who controls the filename can inject Ghostscript arguments. Arbitrary command execution specifically requires a leading @ argument-file filename and control of the referenced text file containing additional Ghostscript arguments; the reported chain reproduces with the default -dSAFER invocation. This issue is fixed in version 13.0.0.

Common questions
How do I fix CVE-2026-112900?
Upgrade pillow on debian unstable to 13.0.0-1 or later.
Is CVE-2026-112900 being actively exploited?
Not that we know of. CVE-2026-112900 is not in the CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Its EPSS score of 0.43% is the estimated probability that it will be exploited in the next 30 days. That is higher than 36% of all scored CVEs.
How severe is CVE-2026-112900?
CVE-2026-112900 has a CVSS v4 base score of 9.2, rated critical. CVSS rates the technical impact if the vulnerability is exploited, not how likely that is, so weigh it alongside the exploit-prediction score when you decide what to patch first.
