CVE-2020-10135

MEDIUMEPSS 83th pctl
5.4
CVSS v3
NVD

Description

Legacy pairing and secure-connections pairing authentication in Bluetooth BR/EDR Core Specification v5.2 and earlier may allow an unauthenticated user to complete authentication without pairing credentials via adjacent access. An unauthenticated, adjacent attacker could impersonate a Bluetooth BR/EDR master or slave to pair with a previously paired remote device to successfully complete the authentication procedure without knowing the link key.

Common questions

How do I fix CVE-2020-10135?

Published advisories record a fix for 265 affected products. The "How to fix" section on this page lists the fixed version and source advisory for each one, so apply the entry matching what you actually run.

Is CVE-2020-10135 being actively exploited?

Not that we know of. CVE-2020-10135 is not in the CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Its EPSS score of 2.4% is the estimated probability that it will be exploited in the next 30 days. That is higher than 83% of all scored CVEs.

How severe is CVE-2020-10135?

CVE-2020-10135 has a CVSS v3 base score of 5.4, rated medium. CVSS rates the technical impact if the vulnerability is exploited, not how likely that is, so weigh it alongside the exploit-prediction score when you decide what to patch first.

What does CVE-2020-10135 affect?

Published advisories record a fix for bpftool (Red Hat / RHEL), bpftool (Rocky), bpftool-debuginfo (Red Hat / RHEL), bpftool-debuginfo (Rocky), and 261 more. Only products with a sourced advisory are listed, so treat this as what we can cite rather than a complete inventory.
