| CVE-2026-47852 | High | 7.5 v3 | 0.2% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-08-27 | A local attacker on a multi-user host can pre-create the deterministic cache path and plant a malicious ONNX model file. Spring AI 2.0.0 Spring AI 1.1.0 - 1.1.8 Spring AI 1.0.0 - 1.0.9 |
| CVE-2026-63404 | High | 7.3 v4 | 0.2% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-08-25 | Faktory is a language-agnostic background job server. In versions prior to 1.10.0, the embedded Redis bootstrapper is vulnerable to an insecure temporary file flaw that lets a local unprivileged user hijack the Redis configuration and escalate to root. It writes its startup configuration to a fixed, predictable, world-writable path, /tmp/redis.conf, only creating the file if it does not already exist and never validating it on later boots. Because /tmp is world-writable, a local unprivileged user can pre-create /tmp/redis.conf with attacker-chosen Redis directives before Faktory starts, and Faktory will use the planted file verbatim. Faktory only overrides the unixsocket, dir, and logfile options, leaving directives such as bind, protected-mode, requirepass, and loadmodule attacker-control |
| CVE-2025-14602 | Medium | 5.3 v4 | 0.3% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-08-20 | The application generates uploaded file names using a weak and predictable method based on the request timestamp. This allows a remote attacker to accurately guess or brute-force the generated filename within a short time window. An attacker can successfully locate and access uploaded files, which can be used to facilitate further attacks. Apply patch from vendor https://vsdesk.ru/ . Versions 14.0101 and on have the patch. |
| CVE-2026-55086 | Medium | 4.2 v3 | 0.1% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-08-19 | Etherpad is a real-time collaborative editor. Prior to 3.1.0, src/node/handler/ImportHandler.ts and src/node/handler/ExportHandler.ts derive temporary filenames from Math.random() and place them in os.tmpdir(). On a host with a shared world-writable temporary directory, a local unprivileged attacker who predicts a filename can precreate a symbolic link to a file writable by the Etherpad process. Subsequent import or export operations can follow the link through fs.writeFile, fs.rename, or document-conversion output and overwrite the target with partially attacker-controlled content. This issue is fixed in version 3.1.0. |
| CVE-2026-75920 | Medium | 5.3 v3 | 0.3% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-08-19 | phpMyFAQ before v4.1.6 writes content backup ZIP archives to the web-accessible document root at content.zip, exposing sensitive files including database credentials. Unauthenticated attackers can race concurrent requests to download the temporary ZIP file before deletion, or exploit XSS in admin contexts to trigger authenticated backups and retrieve the archive. |
| CVE-2026-53759 | Low | 2.0 v4 | 0.2% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-08-18 | linuxfabrik-lib provides Python modules for database access, caching, shell execution, and API integrations. Prior to version 4.2.0, db_sqlite.py created SQLite databases at predictable paths in the shared /tmp directory and followed attacker-created symbolic links at those paths. An attacker who controls a local monitoring account can create a symlink such as /tmp/linuxfabrik-monitoring-plugins-docker-stats.db and then trigger a sudo-authorized plugin, causing the root process to create or modify the symlink target. The primitive can overwrite arbitrary paths, cause denial of service, or manipulate an existing SQLite database through a crafted rollback journal or write-ahead log. The Monitoring Plugins integration also moved plugin caches through lib.db_sqlite.get_db_path() so they use th |
| CVE-2026-73585 | Medium | 6.3 v3 | 0.1% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-08-13 | A flaw was found in sblim-cmpi-base. Insecure temporary file creation in the provider registration scripts allows a local unprivileged user to perform a symlink attack. By creating a symlink in a world-writable directory, an attacker can redirect privileged writes to an arbitrary file during script execution in a privileged context. This can lead to the overwrite of root-owned files, potentially disrupting system services or operation. Exploitation is conditional on the script running with elevated privileges and may be mitigated by sticky-directory symlink protections. |
| CVE-2026-73584 | Medium | 6.3 v3 | 0.1% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-08-13 | A flaw was found in sblim-sfcb. A local, low-privileged attacker can exploit a race condition during privileged instance migration by manipulating a temporary file in the `/tmp` directory. By repeatedly recreating a symbolic link, the attacker can redirect privileged output to an arbitrary file. This can lead to privileged file corruption or a denial of service (DoS) on the system. |
| CVE-2026-16791 | Low | 3.9 v3 | 0.1% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-08-04 | A temporary file creation vulnerability in the Linux version of Lenovo XClarity Essentials OneCLI 5.5.0 and below could allow a local low-privileged attacker to overwrite or truncate arbitrary local files with program-generated data when OneCLI is executed with elevated privileges. |
| CVE-2026-44878 | High | 7.2 v3 | 0.6% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-07-21 | A vulnerability in the web-based management interface of an ECOS device could allow a highly privileged, authenticated remote attacker to access the device's filesystem. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow an attacker to access sensitive files and tamper with or delete system data. |
| CVE-2026-62294 | Medium | 5.1 v4 | 0.1% | - | Fix available | 2026-07-15 | Flameshot is powerful yet simple to use screenshot software. Prior to 14.0.0, the Open With feature wrote screenshots to a predictable temporary path and followed symlinks, creating a time-of-check to time-of-use race that allowed a local unprivileged attacker on the same machine to pre-plant a symlink and cause Flameshot to write PNG data through it, overwriting any file the victim user could write. This issue is fixed in version 14.0.0. |
| CVE-2026-41991 | Low | 2.0 v4 | 0.1% | - | Fix available | 2026-07-03 | GNU gzip contains a vulnerability in the gzexe utility related to insecure temporary file handling. When the mktemp utility is not available in the user’s PATH, gzexe falls back to constructing a temporary file path based solely on the process ID (PID). This predictable filename is created without exclusive access or existence checks. A local attacker can pre‑create the predicted temporary file path as a symbolic link pointing to an arbitrary file writable by the victim. When gzexe runs, it follows the symlink and overwrites the target file, resulting in a time‑of‑check to time‑of‑use (TOCTOU) condition that allows arbitrary file overwrite. This issue has been fixed in the commit 4e6f8b24ab823146ab8776f0b7fe486ab34d4269 |
| CVE-2026-46406 | Medium | 6.1 v3 | 0.2% | - | Fix available | 2026-06-29 | Claude Code is an agentic coding tool. From 2.1.59 until 2.1.128, the Claude Code /copy command wrote responses to a hardcoded, predictable path (/tmp/claude/response.md) without UID isolation, randomness, or symlink protection. The file was created world-readable (0644) in a world-traversable directory (0755), allowing any local user to read a privileged user's Claude response, which could contain secrets or credentials. Additionally, because the path was static and predictable, a local attacker could pre-create the directory and plant a symlink at the expected file path, causing the privileged process to follow the symlink and overwrite an attacker-chosen file with the response text. Exploiting this required a local unprivileged user on the same system and a privileged user to run the / |
| CVE-2026-41001 | Medium | 5.3 v3 | 0.1% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-06-11 | Spring Boot's ArtemisEmbeddedConfigurationFactory uses a fixed, static path for the embedded Artemis message broker's data directory when no explicit path is configured. A local attacker on the same host can pre-create this predictable directory or place a symlink before the application starts. Affected versions: Spring Boot 4.0.0 through 4.0.6; 3.5.0 through 3.5.14; 3.4.0 through 3.4.16; 3.3.0 through 3.3.19; 2.7.0 through 2.7.33. |
| CVE-2026-45384 | Medium | 6.1 v3 | 0.1% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-06-10 | bit7z is a cross-platform C++ static library that allows the compression/extraction of archive files. Prior to version 4.0.12, there is an arbitrary file overwrite vulnerability via symlink attack on predictable temp files during archive update. This issue has been patched in version 4.0.12. |
| CVE-2026-49135 | High | 7.1 v3 | 0.1% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-06-01 | CodexBar prior to 0.32.0 contains an insecure temporary file handling vulnerability that allows local attackers to access sensitive credentials or tamper with build artifacts by exploiting predictable file paths in the release notarization workflow. Attackers with access to the same host can read the App Store Connect API key written to a fixed path, pre-create files or symbolic links at predictable locations to redirect writes to attacker-controlled destinations, or tamper with notarization archives before submission. |
| CVE-2026-49134 | High | 7.1 v3 | 0.3% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-06-01 | CodexBar prior to 0.32.0 contains a privilege escalation vulnerability in the CLI installer that allows local attackers to execute arbitrary commands as root by exploiting a race condition in temporary file handling. The installer creates a temporary file with mktemp, writes a privileged shell payload into it, and executes it with administrator privileges via bash, allowing a same-user local process to rewrite the installer body before the administrator prompt is approved, causing attacker-controlled commands to run as root. |
| CVE-2025-67223 | High | 7.5 v3 | 0.6% | - | -No fix available yet | 2026-04-28 | The Aranda File Server (AFS) component in Aranda Software Aranda Service Desk before 8.3.12 stores daily activity logs with predictable names in a publicly accessible directory, which allows unauthenticated remote attackers to obtain direct virtual paths of uploaded files and bypass access controls to download sensitive documents containing PII. |
| CVE-2026-40979 | Medium | 6.1 v3 | 0.1% | - | Fix available | 2026-04-28 | In Spring AI, having access to a shared environment can expose the ONNX model used by the application. Affected versions: Spring AI: 1.0.0 - 1.0.5 (fixed in 1.0.6), 1.1.0 - 1.1.4 (fixed in 1.1.5) |
| CVE-2026-40973 | High | 7.0 v3 | 0.1% | - | Fix available | 2026-04-28 | A local attacker on the same host as the application may be able to take control of the directory used by `ApplicationTemp`. When `server.servlet.session.persistent` is set to `true` and the attack persists across application restarts, this may allow the attacker to read session information and hijack authenticated users or deploy a gadget chain and execute code as the application's user. Affected: Spring Boot 4.0.0–4.0.5 (fix 4.0.6), 3.5.0–3.5.13 (fix 3.5.14), 3.4.0–3.4.15 (fix 3.4.16), 3.3.0–3.3.18 (fix 3.3.19), 2.7.0–2.7.32 (fix 2.7.33); predictable temp directory / `ApplicationTemp` ownership verification. Versions that are no longer supported are also affected per vendor advisory. |
| CVE-2026-35342 | Low | 3.3 v3 | 0.1% | - | Fix available | 2026-04-22 | The mktemp utility in uutils coreutils fails to properly handle an empty TMPDIR environment variable. Unlike GNU mktemp, which falls back to /tmp when TMPDIR is an empty string, the uutils implementation treats the empty string as a valid path. This causes temporary files to be created in the current working directory (CWD) instead of the intended secure temporary directory. If the CWD is more permissive or accessible to other users than /tmp, it may lead to unintended information disclosure or unauthorized access to temporary data. |
| CVE-2026-20204 | High | 7.1 v3 | 3.3% | - | Fix available | 2026-04-15 | In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.2.1, 10.0.5, 9.4.10, and 9.3.11, and Splunk Cloud Platform versions below 10.4.2603.0, 10.3.2512.5, 10.2.2510.9, 10.1.2507.19, 10.0.2503.13, and 9.3.2411.127, a low-privileged user that does not hold the `admin` or `power` Splunk roles could potentially perform a Remote Code Execution (RCE) by uploading a malicious file to the `$SPLUNK_HOME/var/run/splunk/apptemp` directory due to improper handling and insufficient isolation of temporary files within the `apptemp` directory. |
| CVE-2026-25645 | Medium | 4.4 v3 | 0.2% | - | Fix available | 2026-03-29 | Requests is a HTTP library. Prior to version 2.33.0, the `requests.utils.extract_zipped_paths()` utility function uses a predictable filename when extracting files from zip archives into the system temporary directory. If the target file already exists, it is reused without validation. A local attacker with write access to the temp directory could pre-create a malicious file that would be loaded in place of the legitimate one. Standard usage of the Requests library is not affected by this vulnerability. Only applications that call `extract_zipped_paths()` directly are impacted. Starting in version 2.33.0, the library extracts files to a non-deterministic location. If developers are unable to upgrade, they can set `TMPDIR` in their environment to a directory with restricted write access. |

| CVE-2025-66625 | Medium | 4.9 v3 | 0.4% | - | Fix available | 2025-12-09 | Umbraco is an ASP.NET CMS. Due to unsafe handling and deletion of temporary files in versions 10.0.0 through 13.12.0, during the dictionary upload process an attacker with access to the backoffice can trigger predictable requests to temporary file paths. The application’s error responses (HTTP 500 when a file exists, 404 when it does not) allow the attacker to enumerate the existence of arbitrary files on the server’s filesystem. This vulnerability does not allow reading or writing file contents. In certain configurations, incomplete clean-up of temporary upload files may additionally expose the NTLM hash of the Windows account running the Umbraco application. This issue is fixed in version 13.12.1. |
| CVE-2025-14307 | High | 8.1 v3 | 0.3% | - | Fix available | 2025-12-09 | An insecure temporary file creation vulnerability exists in the AutoExtract component of Robocode version 1.9.3.6. | CVE-2025-7707 | High | 7.8 v3 | 0.2% | - | Fix available | 2025-10-13 | The llama_index library version 0.12.33 sets the NLTK data directory to a subdirectory of the codebase by default, which is world-writable in multi-user environments. This configuration allows local users to overwrite, delete, or corrupt NLTK data files, leading to potential denial of service, data tampering, or privilege escalation. The vulnerability arises from the use of a shared cache directory instead of a user-specific one, making it susceptible to local data tampering and denial of service. |
| CVE-2025-61659 | Medium | 6.8 v3 | 0.1% | - | -No fix available yet | 2025-09-29 | bash-git-prompt 2.6.1 through 2.7.1 insecurely uses the /tmp/git-index-private$$ file, which has a predictable name. |
| CVE-2025-34194 | High | 7.8 v3 | 0.3% | - | -No fix available yet | 2025-09-19 | Vasion Print (formerly PrinterLogic) Virtual Appliance Host versions prior to 25.1.102 and Application versions prior to 25.1.1413 (Windows client deployments) contain an insecure temporary-file handling vulnerability in the PrinterInstallerClient components. The software creates files as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM inside a directory under the control of the local user (C:\Users\%USER%\AppData\Local\Temp\). An attacker who can place symbolic links or otherwise influence filenames in that directory can cause the service to follow the link and write to arbitrary filesystem locations as SYSTEM. This allows a local, unprivileged user to overwrite or create files as SYSTEM, leading to local privilege escalation and the ability to modify configuration files, replace or inject binaries, or otherwise com |
| CVE-2025-9474 | Medium | 4.5 v3 | 0.1% | - | -No fix available yet | 2025-08-26 | A vulnerability was detected in Mihomo Party up to 1.8.1 on macOS. Faktory is a language-agnostic background job server. Faktory only overrides the unixsocket, dir, and logfile options, leaving directives such as bind, protected-mode, requirepass, and loadmodule attacker-control

The application generates uploaded file names using a weak and predictable method based on the request timestamp.

Etherpad is a real-time collaborative editor. This issue is fixed in version 3.1.0.

linuxfabrik-lib provides Python modules for database access, caching, shell execution, and API integrations. The Monitoring Plugins integration also moved plugin caches through lib.db_sqlite.get_db_path() so they use th

A flaw was found in sblim-cmpi-base.

A flaw was found in sblim-sfcb.

Flameshot is powerful yet simple to use screenshot software. This issue is fixed in version 14.0.0.

GNU gzip contains a vulnerability in the gzexe utility related to insecure temporary file handling. Claude Code is an agentic coding tool. Exploiting this required a local unprivileged user on the same system and a privileged user to run the /

The mktemp utility in uutils coreutils fails to properly handle an empty TMPDIR environment variable. Unlike GNU mktemp, which falls back to /tmp when TMPDIR is an empty string, the uutils implementation treats the empty string as a valid path. Requests is a HTTP library.
