  • CVSS 8.8 v4·EPSS 0.4%·No fix yet

The Web add-on's HTTP server dereferences and releases an uninitialized pointer when it detects a `Content-Length` underflow while processing a `PUT` request. The condition is reachable by an unauthenticated remote client with a single malformed request.

  • CVSS 6.8 v4·EPSS 0.2%·No fix yet

`_gx_binres_pixelmap_table_load()` in the GUIX binary resource (theme) loader indexes the pixelmap table with a value read verbatim from the resource file and never bounds it against the table size. A crafted theme drives a write of up to roughly 256 KB past the end of the table. The overflowed buffer is allocated by GUIX itself, through `_gx_system_memory_allocator`, rather than supplied by the caller, so the loader corrupts its own arena. The public API `gx_binres_theme_load()` takes no size parameter, so no amount of caller diligence prevents this. Reproduces in the shipped default configuration; `GX_BINARY_RESOURCE_SUPPORT` is enabled by default.

  • CVSS 5.3 v3·EPSS 0.3%·Fix available

Pillow is a Python imaging library. From 9.1.0 until 13.0.0, Pillow can disclose uninitialized stack memory when Image.quantize() uses an empty palette. ImagingPaletteCacheUpdate() leaves a local cache array uninitialized when the palette has zero entries, and the conversion path emits those bytes as output pixel indices. An attacker who controls the palette image can obtain stack contents from a returned PNG or GIF. This can disclose addresses and stack-canary data without an out-of-bounds access, memory corruption, or process crash. This issue is fixed in version 13.0.0.

  • CVSS 7.5 v3·EPSS 0.5%·Fix available

Pillow is a Python imaging library. From 10.0.0 until 13.0.0, Pillow can free an invalid glyph pointer during FreeType rendering with an active stroker. If FT_Load_Glyph fails, cleanup may call FT_Done_Glyph on an uninitialized or stale glyph variable. An attacker can supply a malformed font as untrusted bytes to an application that draws text with a nonzero stroke width, forcing the glyph-load failure path. This can corrupt memory or crash the process. This issue is fixed in version 13.0.0.

  • CVSS 8.2 v4·EPSS 0.4%·No fix yet

libIEC61850 is an open-source implementation of IEC 61850 client and server protocols including MMS, GOOSE, Sampled Values, and R-Session. Prior to 1.6.2, checkDataSetAccess reverses the source and destination arguments to StringUtils_copyStringToBuffer while constructing an MMS_ASSOCIATION_SPECIFIC dataset reference. The helper treats uninitialized dataSetRef[130] storage as a source string, causing strlen to read beyond the stack buffer, and then copies those bytes into the caller-owned listName buffer. A remote defineNamedVariableList request can crash servers that have dynamic dataset service enabled and a dataset access handler installed; the advisory also observes caller stack corruption but establishes denial of service as the primary impact. This issue is fixed in version 1.6.2.

  • CVSS 4.3 v3·EPSS 0.3%·No fix yet

A vulnerability was found in libsndfile up to 1.2.2. This issue affects the function wavlike_subchunk_parse of the file src/wavlike.c of the component WAV Parsing. Performing a manipulation results in use of uninitialized variable. Remote exploitation of the attack is possible. The exploit has been made public and could be used. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet.

  • CVSS 2.5 v3·EPSS 0.1%·Fix available

A flaw was found in m17n-lib. An attacker who supplies crafted input to an application processing ISO-2022 encoded text can cause the library to read uninitialized memory from the stack. If the application exposes or returns the decoded output, this flaw can result in unexpected behavior and limited information disclosure.

This vulnerability enables unauthenticated remote code execution (RCE) on a victim's machine by exploiting a combination of cryptographic weaknesses and memory management issues in the SConnect native host component. The attack leverages an unrestricted messaging interface between an attacker-controlled web page and the native host, allowing malicious input to bypass security checks.

apcupsd through 3.14.14 discloses uninitialized stack memory in getupsvar() in src/cgi/upsfetch.c (used by upsstats.cgi, multimon.cgi, and upsfstats.cgi. On the single-field path, when the matched STATUS line has fewer than three whitespace-separated tokens, sscanf("%*s %*s %s", answer) performs no assignment but the function returns success, and thus the caller prints the uninitialized destination buffer into the HTTP response.

IBM PowerVM Hypervisor FW1120.00 through FW1120.01, FW1110.00 through FW1110.31, and FW1060.00 through FW1060.81 is affected by a vulnerability in a hypervisor call interface. An attacker with root access to a guest partition can read a limited amount of hypervisor memory, potentially exposing sensitive data belonging to the hypervisor or other guest partitions hosted on the same system, resulting in a confidentiality impact. The attacker has no control over which memory contents are returned. This vulnerability is of particular concern in multi-tenant environments where guests may run arbitrary OS images.

OpenBMC's IPMI implementation, phosphor-net-ipmid, contains a logic flaw in which an unauthenticated client can force the RAKP Message 1 handler to return before it overwrites the authentication object's constructor defaults. The IPMI service then accepts a RAKP Message 3 whose HMAC is computed with the constant 20-byte 'userKey' initialized from the string '0penBmc' and an often-predictable 'bmcRandomNum'. Several downstream vendors implement phosphor-net-ipmid as their IPMI stack, such as NVIDIA and H3C.

OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image file format, widely used in the motion picture industry. In versions 3.3.0 through 3.3.12 and 3.4.0 through 3.4.13, the PyOpenEXR Python bindings return stale heap data when reading a crafted deep scanline EXR that uses layer-prefixed RGB channels. With the default channel coalescing (separate_channels=False), the wrapper groups channels such as left.R, left.G, and left.B into a single RGB sample array, but the lane-offset calculation in PyPart::setDeepSliceData() only recognizes the exact unprefixed names G, B, and A. As a result, prefixed channels like left.G and left.B are decoded into lane 0 while lanes 1 and 2 are left uninitialized and returned to Python. A Python application that reads untrusted deep EXR fil

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipvs: reset full ip_vs_seq structs in ip_vs_conn_new Commit 9a05475cebdd ("ipvs: avoid kmem_cache_zalloc in ip_vs_conn_new") changed ip_vs_conn_new() to allocate an ip_vs_conn object with kmem_cache_alloc(). The function then initializes many fields explicitly, but only resets in_seq.delta and out_seq.delta in the two struct ip_vs_seq members. That leaves init_seq and previous_delta uninitialized. This is normally harmless while the corresponding IP_VS_CONN_F_IN_SEQ or IP_VS_CONN_F_OUT_SEQ flag is clear. For connections learned from a sync message, however, ip_vs_proc_conn() preserves those flags from IP_VS_CONN_F_BACKUP_MASK and passes opt=NULL when the message omits IPVS_OPT_SEQ_DATA. In that case the new connecti

When nh_notifier_res_bucket_info_init() fails (e.g. the kzalloc returns -ENOMEM), the error is propagated back before any notifier sets extack._msg, and the error path formats the stale pointer with pr_err_ratelimited("%s\n", extack._msg).
