OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image format, widely used in the motion picture industry. In versions before 3.2.11, 3.3.0 through 3.3.12, and 3.4.0 through 3.4.13, exrmultiview can write past a heap allocation when it combines two attacker-supplied, individually valid scanline EXR files whose union dataWindow is not aligned to one view's channel subsampling. The utility allocates sampled channel storage using a truncated union_width / xSampling, then reads the sampled input through a Slice based on the misaligned union window, producing a heap out-of-bounds write. The trigger is normal public-tool processing, such as exrmultiview left A.exr right B.exr out.exr with crafted but valid inputs, so this is not solely an API or caller-precondition issue. Th

OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image file format, widely used in the motion picture industry. In versions 3.3.0 through 3.3.12 and 3.4.0 through 3.4.13, the PyOpenEXR Python bindings contain a heap out-of-bounds write triggered when reading a crafted deep scanline EXR file. When a deep file declares a literal channel named left alongside layer-prefixed RGB channels left.R, left.G, and left.B, the wrapper processes the literal left channel first and allocates a scalar deep sample array for it, then reuses that same array as the coalesced destination for the prefixed RGB group. The deep reader registers sample slices with an RGB stride (three lanes) into storage that was allocated with scalar shape, so decoding the deep samples writes past the allocatio

OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image format, widely used in the motion picture industry. Versions 3.3.0 through 3.3.12 and 3.4.0 through 3.4.13 contain a heap buffer overflow in PyOpenEXR triggered by a channel-name key collision between literal and prefixed RGB channels. When separate_channels=false, PyOpenEXR maps each physical channel name through channelNameToRGBA() and coalesces the results into a shared RGB array. A crafted flat scanline EXR that contains both a literal channel such as left and prefixed channels such as left.R, left.G, and left.B causes these names to collide, so the wrapper reuses an undersized two-dimensional NumPy array for the coalesced RGB slices and writes out of bounds when OpenEXR.File(path) decodes the pixels. • CVSS 7.1 v3·EPSS -·Fix available

OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image format, widely used in the motion picture industry. OpenEXR versions 3.3.0 through 3.3.12 and 3.4.0 through 3.4.13 are vulnerable to a heap out-of-bounds write when exrmetrics reads a crafted deep scanline EXR. This occurs with pixel conversion options such as --pixelmode float or --bench because DeepSlice requests FLOAT output while the backing sample buffers are allocated using the input HALF element size. The issue is fixed in versions 3.3.13 and 3.4.14.

OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image format, widely used in the motion picture industry. In versions before 3.2.11, 3.3.0 through 3.3.12, and 3.4.0 through 3.4.13, a crafted tiled EXR can trigger a heap out-of-bounds write on 32-bit/ILP32 builds when read through the public TiledRgbaInputFile RGBA API. The file uses a small 40x40 dataWindow but a 65537x65537 tile size. On ILP32, the Array2D<Rgba> tile-conversion buffer size calculation overflows, allocates a much smaller heap buffer, and tile decode writes past that allocation. This issue is fixed in versions 3.2.11, 3.3.13, and 3.4.14.

Capstone is a disassembly framework. In 6.0.0-Alpha9 and earlier, Capstone's arch/SH/SHDisassembler.c SH floating-point decoders such as opFADD, opFMUL, and opFSUB call set_reg() and set_reg_n() using sh_info.op.op_count without checking the fixed-size operands[] array. Repeated crafted instructions processed through cs_disasm_iter() or cs_disasm() with CS_ARCH_SH, CS_MODE_SH2A or CS_MODE_SH4A, CS_MODE_SHFPU, and CS_OPT_DETAIL can increment the operand count beyond the 176-byte sh_info allocation and perform a four-byte heap buffer overflow write. The corruption can crash the process and may enable code execution depending on heap layout. This issue is fixed in version 6.0.0-Alpha10.

A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in Konami's Metal Gear Online 3, originating from improper validation of lobby data fields related to kicked players. The affected function processes a list of kicked player identifiers using the lobby data key "kick_num" to determine the number of entries, and individual kicked player IDs supplied via keys in the format "kicked_id_%i". The function does not validate that "kick_num" falls within the expected bounds. The game design limits matches to a maximum of 16 players, and the corresponding buffer for storing kicked player IDs is sized accordingly. If "kick_num" exceeds this limit, the function continues writing the provided player IDs past the end of the intended buffer and into adjacent memory regions. These adjacent regions contain

Vim is an open source, command line text editor. Prior to 9.2.0846, set_sofo() in src/spellfile.c reuses sl_sal_first[] without resetting values left by set_sal_first(), so a crafted spell file containing an SN_SAL section before an SN_SOFO section causes under-counted mapping lists and attacker-influenced writes beyond a heap allocation. luci-lib-px5g (LuCI) contains a heap-based buffer overflow in the native ASN.1 encoding routine asn1_add_obj (x509write.c) when signing a certificate with a 2040-bit RSA key. For a 255-byte signature, the BIT STRING allocation is computed from the DER length encoding of 255 bytes, but the payload written after prepending the unused-bits byte is 256 bytes, requiring one additional DER length octet. As a result the allocation is 259 bytes while the tag, length, unused-bits byte, and signature require 260 bytes, and the final memcpy writes one byte beyond the heap buffer. The overflow is reachable through the exported Lua interface via create_selfsigned(); whether it is remotely exploitable depends on the embedding application. The vulnerable code is present on the openwrt-18.06 through openw

LibVNCClient is a library for easy implementation of a VNC client. In versions 0.9.12 through 0.9.15, a malicious (or man-in-the-middle) VNC server can force a connecting `libvncclient` to write attacker-controlled data past the end of its framebuffer. This is an out-of-bounds heap write with attacker-controlled length, contents, and offset. It needs no authentication (the attacker is the server), works in a default build with default settings, and fires from a single `FramebufferUpdate` the moment the victim connects. It crashes any client unconditionally (denial of service); we also demonstrated it overwriting an application callback pointer and redirecting execution to attacker-chosen code (code execution) under the default configuration. libvips is a fast image processing library with low memory needs. Prior to version 8.18.3, applications that define unusual custom libvips sources and use them to process untrusted uncompressed PPM images can trigger a max/min error in vips_source_read_to_memory in libvips/iofuncs/source.c. The function uses VIPS_MAX instead of VIPS_MIN when selecting the remaining read size, allowing up to 4032 bytes to be written beyond the allocated heap buffer and causing memory corruption or a process crash. This issue is fixed in version 8.18.3.

libvips is a fast image processing library with low memory needs. Prior to version 8.18.3, the old-style Radiance RLE decoder in libvips/foreign/radiance.c can process a repeat marker at the beginning of a scanline in scanline_read_old and read q[-1] before any prior pixel exists. A crafted Radiance image loaded through VipsForeignLoadRad can therefore disclose four bytes of adjacent heap data, most likely other image data. This issue is fixed in version 8.18.3.

libvips is a fast image processing library with low memory needs. Prior to version 8.18.3, a crafted many-band TIFF processed through VipsForeignLoadTiff can evade scanline validation in libvips/iofuncs/image.c and cause an integer overflow in vips_image_sanity. The resulting buffer-region calculation can access attacker-controlled negative offsets in mmap-resident allocations, allowing reads or writes of other image data, possible data disclosure through uncompressed .v output, and likely process crashes. Remote code execution has not been demonstrated but cannot be ruled out. This issue is fixed in version 8.18.3.
